Wash and Fold vs. Full Service: What Las Vegas Laundry Costs

The hamper by the door is doing two jobs and charging you for neither of them yet. Towels from a guest bathroom. Socks. A stack of t-shirts that only need to be clean. Then the shirt for Thursday, the pants that still have a crease in the idea of them, and a sweater you would rather not explain to a washing machine. Las Vegas laundry usually arrives like that: one pile that wants to disappear, and one pile that has to come back looking like a decision.

Al Phillips runs both. They are not the same price, and they are not the same process. The plant will not guess which one you meant.

The sister brand, Thrift DLux Cleaners, sells the same everyday laundry by the bag: $30, about 16 pounds, $24 with Platinum, and the store provides the bag. Full Service is the other number entirely. It is priced per garment, pressed, and hung.

The pound

Everyday home laundry is for textiles that need a wash and a fold, not a performance. Bedding, towels, socks, undergarments, household linens, weekend clothes, older pieces that have already done their best. The plant washes the order apart from everyone else's, follows the care label, and uses Kreussler detergents. It comes back folded, in a box or a bag.

That price does not include a press, a crease, starch, or a replaced button. If the piece needs any of those, it does not belong on this ticket.

The hanger

Full Service starts with an inspection. Stains get treated. Loose thread gets tightened. A missing button gets replaced. The garment is cleaned the way the care label allows, dry cleaning or laundry, then pressed or steamed. Starch or a pants crease if you ask. It leaves on a metal hanger inside a bag. The price is the garment, not the weight.

A laundry shirt is $5 at both brands, $4 with Platinum. Pants are $9.99 at Al Phillips ($7.99 Platinum) and $8.10 at Thrift DLux ($6.48 Platinum). A dress shirt or blouse at Al Phillips is $9.99, $7.99 with Platinum. Suits, silks, gowns, and anything the label sends to dry cleaning never start in the wash-and-fold pile. They are Full Service before anyone asks.

The default is the hanger

Hand the counter a mixed bag and say nothing, and the plant treats it as Full Service. A Platinum membership bag is a Full Service bag. Wash and fold has to be named, and it has to travel in its own container: the yellow wash-and-fold bag at a staffed store or with the driver. At a 24/7 smart store, laundry and Full Service are two orders in two numbered bags, so a towel load does not land on a suit ticket.

What stays out of the yellow bag

If the care label calls for dry cleaning, hand washing, stain removal, starch, or a crease, the piece cannot ride as laundry. Luxury brands cannot either. Comforters, wedding dresses, uniforms, formalwear, and ceremonial garments have their own Full Service prices. A comforter or blanket is $29.99, $23.99 with Platinum. Down and feather cost more to handle. Find one of those in a wash-and-fold order and the plant calls. If nobody picks up, the item is set aside and comes back uncleaned. It does not get forced through the wrong process.

Where the pound is sold

Al Phillips wash and fold is at the central plant, 3250 W Ali Baba Lane, Suite C, or on the free route. Pickup and delivery runs Monday through Saturday, home or office, across Greater Las Vegas, at the same price as the counter. Thrift DLux sells the bag at its own stores. The free route is the Al Phillips brand.

Platinum is $20 for a year of 20% off almost everything, in store or on the route. The full list, both brands, is on the pricing page. Extra charges can apply for certain high-value brands, rush service, or special handling.

The same clock, until it is not

Both services share the ordinary timetable: ready by the end of the second full business day, weekends excluded. Next-day rush is available in most cases for an added charge. Same-day cleaning is only at the plant, drop-off 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, ready by 5:00 PM. A Thursday shirt dropped at a neighborhood store on Wednesday night is not a Thursday shirt.
